Patient Trust
Above all, trust in the slow work of God.
We are all, quite naturally, impatient in everything to reach the end without delay.
We should like to skip the intermediate stages.
We are impatient of being on the way to something unknown, something new, and yet it is the law of all progress that is made by passing through some stages of instability-and that it may take a very long time.
And so I think it is with you.
Your ideas mature gradually - let them grow, let them shape themselves, without undue haste.
Don't try to force them on, as though you could be today what time (that is to say, grace and circumstances acting on your own good will) will make you tomorrow.
Only God could say what this new spirit gradually forming within you will be.
Give our Lord the benefit of believing that his hand is leading you and accept the anxiety of feeling yourself in suspense and incomplete.

Before the birth of our second child, I went to reconciliation with my pastor and discusssed the role of patience in my life. As if he knew what I was going to say in advance, a piece of paper with this prayer was literally sitting next to him and he handed it to me for further prayer and reflection.

God Loves You
This is a prayer written in 2008 by Liz and Andrew Curran for the Bellarmine Chapel St. Vincent de Paul conference to convey a theologicial message that people of faith hear frequently, but those who are doing everything they can just to make it might not hear as often. The goal was to help connect the people we visit to God using a prayer.
God Loves You
God is our loving Creator, who has a unique and incredible plan for each of us. You can feel God's presence; it is the feeling that comes from your gut, saying "You are not alone."
When we suffer, God suffers. The time we need God's love the most is in our darkest and most painful moments. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus says, "Come to me all you who are weary and find life burdensome and I will refresh you."
But how do we take the first step? Prayer helps us make the journey. No matter who you are, God hears your prayers. Whether the words are simple or fancy, what's most important is that they come straight from the heart.
You truly are a miracle of God.
"For I know well the plans I have in mind for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare, not woe! Plans to give you a future full of hope."
- Jeremiah 29:11
Where do you most experience God's love - go there often.
